Knights Inn Shelbyville

This hotel was horrible and I would not recommend it to anyone. The lobby was dark, scary, the rooms were dirty and smelled bad. It appeared that our bathroom had not been cleaned in a couple of months, and there was a box of open condoms under the desk in our room. We booked 2 non smoking rooms, but when we got there they said they only had one nonsmoking room due to overbooking. Although they did not have the rooms we reserved, they refused to give any discount or refund of money. Once we were settled in our room, the hotel staff changed shifts and proceeded to check us out of our room and check someone else into it. When they did this they issued another patron a card that gave him the ability to walk right into our room. They did eventually get the situation straightened out, but it took a lot of time and hassle. At about 8 pm the fire alarm was pulled and the hotel staff didn't have any way to turn it off. Because they didn't have a key on site, the alarm went off every 1/2 hour until they got the key and turned it off (about 4 hours). Do not stay at this hotel,it was horrible! ...read more

This hotel was very dirty and lots of people just hanging around the place. Didn't feel safe. Had to leave early due to babysitting issues and was told we would have my CC charged for 1/2. Stinky rooms, horrible bathroom! ...read more

Cheap hotel catering to construction workers in the area - toilet wouldn't flush - nothing was done about it even after 5 hrs. - Breakfast area not clean / rooms in poor condition - not clean / musty smell. ...read more

While the hotel was a decent value it was highly run down. Rooms have not been updated in sometime. Offered Wini only worked once for 5 minutes forced to used tethered cell phone. Tried to take a shower at 7:30. the hotel was mostly empty yet there was already no hot water. The one ice machine on site was frozen solid. Its a bargain hotel if you need a place to put down your head its decent enough otherwise I'd avoid it. ...read more
